What are the different levels of language proficiency tests?

The CEFR framework identifies six levels of proficiency: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2. The scale goes from A1 (beginner) to C2 (proficient). At the A1 level, a candidate is able to use basic language to achieve specific aims.
