About the Coding: Entry-Level Algorithms test

For entry-level programmers, a strong foundation in at least one programming language is essential for success. Candidates who are familiar with core programming concepts will be well-equipped to tackle more complex programming challenges.

This entry-level programming challenge assesses candidates' ability to program a small algorithm, testing their basic programming skills. This language-agnostic challenge can be completed in any one of the coding languages supported in our platform. It is up to the employer to configure the language or languages they want to enable for the challenge when they set up the assessment.

As an employer, you may choose the programming language or languages that match your organization’s needs and requirements. As a candidate, you can choose from the programming languages enabled for the challenge by your prospective employer to select the one in which you are most comfortable and best able to showcase your strengths.

This test gives candidates enough time to complete a simple coding task involving entry-level algorithms. The code is evaluated against a set of test cases and scored accordingly. Candidates are also encouraged to create their own test cases to help determine if they are on the right track.

This test is an excellent tool for screening candidates based on their foundational programming knowledge. It can be used to effectively evaluate a candidate's essential skills and determine their potential for further professional growth.
