Established in 2019, Manatal is a Bangkok-based company that provides an applicant tracking and recruitment platform. The software is designed to help recruiters and hiring teams manage sourcing, candidate pipelines, and communication from one system.

TestGorilla Sourcing gives you access to an international database of more than two million candidates who’ve completed at least one TestGorilla skills test and opted in to appear in employer searches. 

You can search for talent by job title or keyword, then filter results by skills, specific tests taken (up to six at a time), location, experience level, and salary expectations. 

TestGorilla’s AI-powered matching then uses verified test performance data and candidates’ work experience to give you recommendations based on demonstrated abilities rather than keywords alone. This way, you can see strong matches and discover hidden talent, while reducing bias in your sourcing process.

Results appear as anonymized candidate profile cards showing their verified skills, recent work experience, and test results. You can quickly scan scores – shown as percentages or percentile rankings compared to other test-takers – to spot top performers.

  • Top performers: 70th percentile and above

  • Average performers: 40th–69th percentile

  • Hidden results: Below 40th percentile, incomplete tests; coding tests that weren’t passed

  • Coding tests outcomes: “Achieved,” “Partially Achieved,” or hidden if not passed

Test scores remain valid for several months to a year, depending on the test type, and candidates can re-take tests to update their results.

Importantly, candidates’ names and photos are hidden in their profile cards until you choose to reach out, which helps further minimize unconscious bias. After you connect with a candidate, their card will display their name, photo, email address, uploaded resume, TestGorilla personality test results, and other details.

Manatal’s discovery & matching 

Manatal helps recruiters identify and organize candidates across multiple channels through its Sourcing Hub, which connects to a database of more than 600 million public profiles. These profiles are compiled from LinkedIn, job boards, and other public sources.

You can search the database by role, keyword, or skill, and narrow results with filters for experience, education, and location. Manatal also supports Boolean operators (“AND,” “OR,” “NOT”) for specific search queries or unique requirements.

Results are sorted by an AI recommendation engine that analyzes how closely each candidate matches your job description based on resume data, keywords, experience level, and other details. 

While this sorting can help you prioritize candidates, the data comes from public profiles – so accuracy depends on how complete and up-to-date each profile is. In some cases, that means seemingly strong matches may not actually have the skills you’re looking for.

From a candidate’s profile, you can add them to your pipeline, send personalized emails using templates, or update records with new information.

Compared to TestGorilla, the sourcing experience in Manatal is more segmented. You may need to switch between posting, job boards, searching profiles in the Sourcing Hub, and using the LinkedIn Chrome extension to capture new candidates. Also, there’s no way to assess candidates’ skills within Manatal as part of your hiring process. You’ll need to integrate a third-party tool with Manatal to do so.

That said, the interface is well-organized and quite easy to navigate.

Emails are sent from the platform’s domain, but replies go straight to your email inbox. And all communication stays tied to the candidate’s profile, so you can see a complete picture of progress – from invitation to assessment completion – without switching between tools.

After identifying candidates, Manatal’s “Find Contact Details” feature enables you to retrieve publicly available email addresses or phone numbers for outreach. 

From there, you can contact candidates individually or in bulk via email or SMS, directly from their profiles. Templates support merge tags for fields like candidate name, job title, and company name, allowing you to personalize messages at scale.

For interview scheduling, Manatal connects with Gmail and Outlook calendars. You can also set up workflow automations – e.g., when a candidate moves to the “Interview” stage, the system can automatically send them an email with a Calendly link.

All outbound messages, responses, and status changes appear in the candidate’s activity timeline. This gives hiring teams a complete view of who said what and when.
