Eightfold AI review: Pricing, features, pros, and cons (+ a better alternative)

Alice Keeling

Verdict: Eightfold AI is a talent acquisition and management platform built for enterprise-scale companies. It offers a built-in database of millions of candidates and a LinkedIn extension for external sourcing. You can also build custom databases of current employees, alumni, and past job applicants for internal sourcing.

It’s easy to fine-tune your candidate search in Eightfold AI with customizable filters. The platform uses AI to identify strong matches for your role, and I like that it scores candidates on multiple attributes. However, I found that the AI sometimes infers candidates’ skills, which can lead to erroneous matches. Eightfold AI also highlights diversity characteristics such as race and gender, which can introduce bias into your hiring process.

I enjoyed Eightfold AI’s user experience, but I’d like to see the platform offer more advanced analytics tools. In addition, some customers had issues integrating their applicant tracking systems (ATSs), and others complained that Eightfold AI’s support isn’t very responsive.

Pricing for Eightfold AI isn’t transparent. When I reached out for a demo, the company replied only that its software is best-suited for companies with at least 10,000 employees.

Overall, I think Eightfold AI could be a powerful tool for enterprise hiring, but I’d like to see the platform take steps to validate skills and minimize bias in the sourcing process. For companies in search of an alternative, TestGorilla offers a database of 2 million+ candidates with verified skills and helps you eliminate bias from your hiring process.

Key features:

  • External sourcing: You get access to a database with millions of candidate profiles and can import candidates from LinkedIn using a browser extension.

  • Internal sourcing: You can create databases of current employees, alumni, past job applicants, and more to source candidates with whom your company already has ties.

  • AI-powered candidate scores: AI scores candidates on a 1–5 scale and calculates sub-scores based on their skills, past job titles, and work experience.

  • Candidate communication: You can contact candidates directly from Eightfold AI by email, text message, WhatsApp, or LinkedIn message. Eightfold AI also includes interview scheduling tools.

Pros

- Supports both external and internal sourcing with highly customizable filters

- AI-powered scores make it easy to compare matches

- Custom internal databases enable continued engagement with runner-up applicants

- Supports a wide range of channels to communicate with candidates

- Good user experience with a modest learning curve

Cons

- Diversity metrics can introduce bias

- AI can infer candidate skills

- Limited analytics tools

- Customer support may be slow to respond

Eightfold AI pricing

Eightfold AI doesn’t offer pricing information on its website. When I reached out for pricing, the company responded that Eightfold AI “is best leveraged with companies of 10,000 employees in size or higher” and didn’t provide any further price information.

Online sources indicate that Eightfold AI costs $7–$10 per employee per month. While I couldn’t confirm this estimate, it means the software starts at $840,000 per year. So, it’s only suitable for very large enterprises.

TL;DR: Eightfold AI isn’t transparent about its pricing, and says the platform is only suitable for companies with at least 10,000 employees.

Eightfold AI’s user interface

I reached out to Eightfold AI for a demo of the platform, but the company declined my request. However, I was able to see the software for myself thanks to a weekly webinar run by the Eightfold AI team. I also watched the company’s promotional videos and dove into customer reviews to learn as much as possible about the platform.

I found that Eightfold AI combines tools for talent acquisition and talent management into a single platform. I’ll focus mainly on the software’s talent acquisition capabilities in this review.

Overall, I thought Eightfold AI’s interface is modern and streamlined. It puts most of the talent acquisition features in a single dashboard, so you don’t have to navigate a lot of different screens. It’s easy to keep job applicants and contacts organized with tabs and quickly sort your matched candidates.

Eightfold AI’s interface is easy to navigate and offers a streamlined dashboard for sourcing candidates.

The only thing I didn’t love is that some features, like messaging or interview scheduling, appear in sidebar windows on top of the main dashboard. You can end up with several sidebars open at once, which can get a little confusing.

It’s important to note that Eightfold AI requires integration with your applicant tracking system (ATS) to work properly. Some users report issues integrating Eightfold AI with their existing ATS, while others report slow syncing.

TL;DR: Eightfold AI’s interface is modern and streamlined. However, some features appear as sidebar windows, which can get confusing. Also, users mention trouble integrating and syncing with their ATS.

Eightfold AI talent sourcing

Eightfold AI is designed to help you find talented candidates for your open roles and reduce time-to-hire. Let’s take a closer look at talent acquisition in Eightfold AI.

Eightfold AI: Candidate discovery & matching

Eightfold AI offers a database of millions of candidates for talent search. The database is populated with data from public sources, including LinkedIn, GitHub, and job boards. Candidates can also create a profile with Eightfold AI to be added to the database.

While I appreciate the scale of this database, the fact that candidate data comes from unvetted public sources does create problems. Many candidates who appear in the database may not currently be looking for a new role, and their contact information may be out of date. There’s also no way to verify the skills that candidates report on their resumes or list on their profiles.

In addition to searching for talent in Eightfold AI’s candidate database, you can create your own databases to search. These can include current employees, company alumni, past job applicants, and more. This is a great feature for enterprise-scale companies that want to look internally for talent in addition to conducting an external search.

You can also import candidates directly from LinkedIn using Eightfold AI’s browser extension and create “communities” of candidates in specific niches (e.g., AI engineers). I really like this feature because it lets you create custom talent pools and track candidates you might want to cultivate for future roles. You can also use communities to shortlist runner-up candidates from past job openings, making it easy to encourage them to apply to more roles with your company in the future.

Eightfold AI lets you create communities of candidates so you can stay engaged with runners-up for past jobs or candidates with specific skills.

Talent discovery in Eightfold AI starts in your ATS. The platform automatically imports your job description and converts it into filters based on skills, work experience, location, and other factors. You can refine these filters manually and select up to three model candidates from your databases to further guide your search.

Eightfold AI then uses AI to identify potential matches across your databases and scores them on a 1–5 scale. Candidates are given sub-scores based on their skills, past job titles, and work experience, which I like since it allows you to look beyond the overall score. However, I noticed that Eightfold AI infers candidates’ skills based on what other candidates with similar job titles report on their resumes. This can inflate candidates’ profiles and be misleading about the skills they actually possess.

Eightfold AI scores matches on a 1–5 scale and assigns sub-scores based on their skills, past job titles, and work experience.

The platform also highlights candidates’ diversity-related characteristics, such as gender and race, and lets you sort matches by them. While this is meant to increase diversity in hiring, it can also introduce bias into your talent sourcing. On the bright side, I was glad to see that Eightfold AI hides candidates’ names and photos until you’re ready to reach out.

When you find candidates you like, you can add them to a shortlist or advance them to the next stage in your hiring pipeline. Changes you make in Eightfold AI are automatically reflected in your ATS.

Eightfold AI: Candidate outreach

Eightfold AI enables you to reach out to candidates directly from the platform. You can contact them by email, text message, WhatsApp, or LinkedIn direct message. Generative AI helps you draft personalized messages, which you can customize before sending.

One thing I especially like about messaging in Eightfold AI is that the platform keeps track of your entire communication history with a candidate across multiple roles. So, you can easily see if you or another recruiter at your company has reached out to a candidate in the past.

Eightfold AI keeps track of all communications you’ve had with a candidate in the past, including for different roles.

Eightfold AI keeps track of all communications you’ve had with a candidate in the past, including for different roles.

In addition to sending messages to candidates, you can schedule interviews directly through Eightfold AI. This is a nice time-saving feature since you don’t have to switch to a separate scheduling platform.

While I was generally happy with the communication tools, I would like to see more flexibility in message design. Eightfold AI primarily offers a simple text editor, whereas some competitors have drag-and-drop outreach tools similar to what email marketing platforms offer.

TL;DR: Eightfold AI provides a candidate database and lets you create your own internal sourcing databases. It uses AI to find matching candidates, although you’ll need to be careful to ensure candidates actually have the skills the AI infers. You can reach out to shortlisted candidates by email, text message, WhatsApp, or LinkedIn message.

Eightfold AI: AI features

Eightfold AI incorporates AI at every stage of talent sourcing.

  • AI converts your job description into filters for your candidate search.

  • AI infers candidates’ likely skills based on what similar candidates have reported on their resumes.

  • AI identifies matches and scores candidates based on their fit for your role.

  • AI drafts personalized messages to candidates.

It’s also worth noting that Eightfold AI offers AI-powered two-way interviews to help you evaluate candidates who make it to the next stage of your hiring process.

I found Eightfold AI’s AI features very helpful, and I especially like that it reports match scores on several different metrics for each candidate. That said, the AI can sometimes overreach, such as when it infers candidates’ skills. Some users also report that the AI doesn’t always read resumes correctly. In contrast, TestGorilla’s AI focuses on assessment-verified skills, which reduces inaccuracies in candidate matching.

TL;DR: Eightfold AI’s AI does a great job helping you craft talent searches and identify matches. However, it can sometimes infer skills that candidates haven’t reported.

Eightfold AI reporting & analytics

Eightfold AI reports on the number of matched candidates, their skills and diversity, and your conversion rate for each of your open roles. I like that it shows funnel diagrams illustrating attrition at each stage of your hiring process and tracks the average match score of your hires.

However, I found that Eightfold AI’s analytics tools aren’t very flexible. You get a lot of summary statistics, but not much ability to drill down into your data with custom filters. You can filter your sourcing data by department or location, but that’s about it.

Furthermore, users complained that there are no statistics available for the communities you create within Eightfold AI. For detailed analysis, you’ll need to export data as a CSV file.

Eightfold AI offers helpful summary statistics about your sourced candidates, but the analytics tools don’t allow you to dig deeper into your data.

Eightfold AI offers helpful summary statistics about your sourced candidates, but the analytics tools don’t allow you to dig deeper into your data.

I was also a bit disappointed to find that Eightfold AI doesn’t use AI to make suggestions for improving your hiring process. This is something competing platforms offer, and it can be really helpful for maximizing your candidate conversion rate.

TL;DR: Eightfold AI offers basic analytics tools and summary statistics about your sourcing process. However, for detailed analyses, you’ll need to export your data.

Eightfold AI customer support

Eightfold AI didn’t cover customer support channels in its webinar, and there are no support details on the company’s website. There’s also no online knowledge base, which is somewhat unusual.

Customer reviews are mixed on the quality of Eightfold AI’s support. Some report that the customer service team is very responsive, while others complain that slow support is a recurring issue.

TL;DR: Eightfold AI isn’t transparent about its support options. Customers report mixed experiences when seeking support.

What are Eightfold AI's review ratings from review sites?

(As of November 2025)

Eightfold AI has more than 230 reviews, mainly on G2. Customers consistently praise Eightfold AI’s candidate matching process and overall ease of use. Negative reviews highlight integration issues, slow customer support, and limited analytics capabilities.

Eightfold AI review

Eightfold AI is a talent acquisition platform built for enterprise-scale companies with at least 10,000 employees. It helps you source both external and internal candidates and uses AI to automatically identify and score matches for your role.

From what I discovered, Eightfold AI is mostly easy to use, but it’s important to be aware of ATS integration issues. Customer support can also be slow when you run into problems. In addition, Eightfold AI falls short of its competitors in its sourcing analytics tools.

Overall, customers praise Eightfold AI as a capable platform that can speed up hiring, but they would like to see the company better meet customers’ needs when issues arise.
