Most ATS filters rely on rigid keyword matching, which can screen out great candidates who have the skills you need but don’t quite meet the keyword criteria. Our AI resume scoring starts with your job description to create custom, skills-based criteria. It’s fairer and more effective than keyword matching.

Our AI evaluates each resume against the custom criteria you’ve approved for the job.

• Criterion score (0–5): Each resume gets a score from 0–5 for every individual criterion, showing how strongly the candidate’s experience matches that specific requirement. The 5 criterions are equally weighted.

• Percentile score: We convert the candidate’s overall raw score into a percentile. This shows you how their resume compares to thousands of other resumes scored on our platform, giving you a clear benchmark of their strength.

Candidates can upload their resume as a PDF (.pdf) or a Microsoft Word document (.docx). The maximum file size is 2MB.

You have full control. The AI-suggested criteria are a starting point, but you can edit them, replace them with your own, or remove any you don’t need. You always have the final say on what matters before any scoring begins.

Fairness is at the core of our design. Here’s how we reduce bias:

• Anonymous review: Personal details like names, photos, pronouns, and locations are automatically removed from resumes before scoring.

• Job-relevant criteria: Scoring is based on skills and experience directly related to your job description, not on proxies like years of experience, which research shows have a very low correlation with job performance (r≈0.06).

• Continuous monitoring: Our system is regularly checked by our science team to ensure fair outcomes across demographic groups.

It only takes a few minutes. You just provide your job description, and our AI instantly generates role-specific scoring criteria. You review and approve these criteria, and you’re ready to start screening.

The candidate experience is simple and seamless. They just upload their resume when prompted during the assessment. They do not see their score or any of the AI’s reasoning; they only receive a confirmation that their resume has been processed.
