Position Summary

The Training Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing training programs within an organization. This role involves assessing training needs, creating instructional materials, delivering training sessions, and evaluating the effectiveness of training initiatives to ensure that employees acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their jobs efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

1. Training Needs Assessment:

  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify the training needs of employees.

  • Collaborate with department heads and managers to determine specific skill gaps and training requirements.

2. Program Development:

  • Design and develop comprehensive training programs, including in-person, online, and blended learning formats.

  • Create instructional materials such as manuals, guides, e-learning modules, and presentation slides.

3. Training Delivery:

  • Facilitate training sessions, workshops, and seminars for employees at all levels.

  • Utilize various instructional methods to engage and educate participants effectively.

4. Evaluation and Improvement:

  • Develop and administer assessments to measure training effectiveness.

  • Gather feedback from trainees and managers to identify areas for improvement.

  • Continuously update and refine training programs based on feedback and changing organizational needs.

5. Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of training activities, participant progress, and program outcomes.

  • Prepare and present reports on training metrics and effectiveness to senior management.

6. Collaboration:

  • Work closely with HR and department leaders to align training programs with organizational goals and strategies.

  • Partner with external training providers and consultants as needed to enhance training offerings.

7. Compliance and Standards:

  • Ensure all training programs comply with relevant industry regulations and standards.

  • Stay informed about best practices and emerging trends in training and development.

8. Technology Integration:

  • Leverage technology to enhance the training experience, including learning management systems (LMS), webinars, and virtual training tools.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to training platforms.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in training and development, instructional design, or a related area.

Skills:

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

  • Proficiency in designing training programs and materials.

  • Ability to assess training needs and measure training effectiveness.

  • Familiarity with e-learning platforms and LMS.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
