Finance Director

We are seeking a hands-on Finance Director to lead our finance function and help build the infrastructure needed for scale. This is a high-impact role reporting directly to the CEO/COO and working closely with the acquisitions, property management and construction teams. The ideal candidate will combine strong financial acumen with operational savvy and a builder’s mindset.

Requirements:

  • Leadership Skills: Experience managing and leading a team.

  • Education / Experience: 10-15 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting and investment management. Real estate finance is a strong plus. CPA and/or MBA preferred.

  • Quantitative Skills: Proficient in financial modeling, accounting and forecasting.

  • Communication: (Almost) Native English. Excellent writing and verbal skills.

  • Organizational: You create order in a fast-paced environment. You are entrepreneurial and adaptable and thrive in high-growth environments. You are a proactive leader.

  • Systems: Familiar with real estate systems such as Appfolio (strong plus), Yardi, MRI, or Juniper Square. Quickbooks a strong plus.

What will you do:

Finance, Accounting & Reporting

  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for Good Harbor, as well as all portfolio properties.

  • Develop and maintain budgets and forecasts for Good Harbor, as well as all portfolio properties

  • Oversee a flawless payment process where all vendors are paid on time and every single dollar is accounted for.

  • Collaborate with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with GAAP and real estate accounting best practices.

Treasury & Cash Flow

  • Maintain and project Good Harbor and property-level liquidity to support acquisitions, operations, and distributions.

  • Manage capital calls, investor payments, bank accounts, credit lines, and transfers.

  • Ensure LLCs compliance with IRS and other Government regulations.

Investment Support & Diligence

  • Partner with acquisitions team to review deal underwriting

  • Lead diligence process effectively to guarantee all stones are turned, investments are made with ‘eyes wide open’, and closings are on time.

  • Monitor closing activities, sources & uses, and post-close financial transitions.

Infrastructure & Systems

  • Implement and improve financial systems, reporting tools, and internal controls.

  • Evaluate and onboard CRE finance software solutions.

Team & Leadership

  • Hire, train, and lead a growing finance, accounting and diligence team.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and external stakeholders, including Construction, Acquisitions, and Leasing.

Investor Relations

  • Support capital raising efforts with investor presentations, reporting, data requests, and financial narrative.

  • Ensure timely and accurate investor distributions.

  • Strategic Finance & Growth Planning - Bonus

  • Lead financial forecasting and modeling to support aggressive AUM growth.

  • Develop and optimize capital structures for debt and equity investments.

  • Support growth and asset strategy, modeling cash flow and IRR scenarios.
