Medical Billing Manager
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Medical Billing Manager to oversee the billing operations of our state-of-the-art toxicology laboratory. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing with a focus on toxicology or similar fields. As a Medical Billing Manager, you will be responsible for leading our billing team, enhancing billing processes, and ensuring accurate and timely reimbursement for services.
Responsibilities
Manage and oversee the daily operations of the billing department, including claim submission, payment posting, insurance follow-up, and revenue cycle management.
Develop and implement policies and procedures that ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and payer requirements.
Collaborate with laboratory management to optimize billing processes and integrate billing solutions with laboratory information systems.- Train and mentor billing staff on best practices
Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy in billing practices
Serve liaison between the laboratory, insurance companies, and patients regarding billing inquiries and disputes.
Prepare and analyze billing reports to track department performance, identify trends, and develop strategies to improve revenue recovery.Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree preferred- Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical billing, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
Strong knowledge of billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems
Excellent leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and lead a team to meet tight deadlines.
Comprehensive understanding of medical billing regulations- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to resolve conflicts and manage relationships with stakeholders.
Analytical skills with an emphasis on financial data interpretation and problem-solving in billing operations.
