I’m Wouter, co-founder and CEO at TestGorilla. We’re a fast-growing HR tech startup that helps teams make better hiring decisions, faster and bias-free.

Over the past year, we’ve experienced tremendous growth. More than 6,000 companies have replaced CVs with our assessments to screen candidates in an unbiased and data-driven way.


As we scale our efforts in 2022 and beyond, we’re looking for a Head of People & Culture who’s passionate about putting talent first and helping people land dream jobs.

The job in a nutshell

As the Head of People & Culture, you will be responsible for making TestGorilla, a dream place to work by contributing at both operational and strategic levels. 

You will direct day-to-day People and Talent Acquisition activities and lead a small but growing team. You will partner with the CEO and leadership team to help shape the future of TestGorilla and scale a high-performing and talent-dense team. 

You share our passion for skills-based hiring and will act as a guardian of TestGorilla’s culture. You will keep our people and culture at the heart of our success and ensure that TestGorilla people thrive and grow towards their dream job. 

With first-hand experience of our platform, you will collaborate with our Product and customer-facing teams and play a key role in our growth. As a practitioner who champions TestGorilla’s values, you will be an external speaker for TestGorilla and become one of the top thought leaders on skills-based hiring. 


You’ll spend time on the following:

  • Driving a bold TestGorilla People strategy and roadmap 
  • Acting as a member of the Leadership team and amplifying the voice of people and HR in our company strategy
  • Developing and executing an approach to scale our team with world-class and mission-driven talent (150 people in the next year alone!)
  • Owning and embedding a high-performance philosophy and culture that keeps us aligned and results-focused as we progress toward our mission
  • Strengthening our programs and policies and ensuring TestGorilla is a dream place to work 
  • Leading, inspiring and scaling our HR team
  • Advancing our diversity, equity and inclusion agenda
  • Putting talent first and overseeing a best-in-class recruitment approach 
  • Building systems that will keep us agile and collaborative as we scale while minimizing bureaucracy
  • Developing ongoing organizational initiatives which embed our values, reinforce and improve upon our culture, drive employee engagement 
  • Pushing our employer brand to the next level 
  • Efficiently collecting and selecting the right metrics that will lead to impactful reporting and change
  • Participating in the evolution of our product 
  • Representing TestGorilla externally and becoming an advocate for skills-based hiring
  • Partnering with managers, teams, and individual contributors and responding to ad hoc HR requests

Here’s what we are looking for:

  • You are inspired by our mission to put one billion people in dream jobs

  • You have successfully implemented a wide range of projects and activities in all areas of HR, including: Culture, Talent Acquisition, Diversity and Inclusion, L&D, Performance Management, Engagement, Compensation
  • You have a proven track record of leadership and building high-performing and talent-dense teams and culture within companies undergoing rapid growth 
  • You have a strategic mindset but will crucially also be hands-on in approach and lead from the front
  • You are data-driven and target/KPI-oriented
  • You are an active listener and a facilitator with a knack for a collaborative approach and a strong emotional intelligence 
  • You are  comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a global remote team

We typically expect candidates with at least some of the following experiences to have the skills mentioned above

  • You have 5 years+ of experience in generalist HR function at senior level
  • You have exposure to scaling fully remote SaaS business at a similar growth stage

About TestGorilla

At TestGorilla, we envision a world where everyone has their dream job. To achieve this, employers and employees need to have the right information about each other. 

We started in 2020 by building a screening platform that enables employers to evaluate candidates in the skills that matter most for success in a role. Our product replaces subjective, incomplete, and often inflated CVs with objective, reliable, and fair test results measuring aptitude, practical job skills, motivation, and culture add.

Improving and expanding this platform is currently our core focus, but it’s only the beginning of our journey to get everyone their dream job. Over time, we will launch more products that support this mission.

We have procured $70m in Series A funding from the venture-capital firms Atomico and Balderton Capital, and our growth is on target to continue exponentially. Chances are you’re familiar with some of our biggest customers, like Sony, PepsiCo, H&M, Deloitte, Bain & Company, Oracle, Revolut, and the UK’s National Health Service.

We work remotely, spread across the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Africa.
